Take a cup of warm water and add a few drops of liquid dish soap to it. Mix the soap unit you see its sud form.
Take a sponge and dig it into the mixture and rub it over the fiberglass to remove as much of the dirt as possible.
Take a nylon brush then brush the cleaning solution into the cracks. Too much pressure can widen the cracks so do not apply much pressure on it.
Use water to risen the area and let it dry completely.
After this take cream hardener and mix the fiberglass repair filler within. Do this according to the manufacture,s instruction.
It is a deep scratch or any nick spread the filler paste over it. From his process, you will buff off the light scratches but should fill the deeper scratches. Take a plastic spreader to spread the filler. It will give a smooth surface. Give it time to dry completely.
Take sandpaper and sand the area with80 grifts to even out the surface. Do this process with 180 grifts and then 360 grift sandpaper. Take a cloth with soak water and wipe out the sand dust with it. Give it time to dry completely.
According to the manufacture’s instructions mix the gel coat. This will consist of mixing the Gelcoat with hardener and acetone. Use a spray gun to pour the gelcoat into the tank. Depress the trigger with a moving spray gun. It will avoid you to apply too much pain to one area and will cause it to drip. Give several hours to Gelcoat to dry.
Take a cloth and soak in acetone and rub it over the entire tank. It will help you to remove the tacky surface of the Gelcoat.
After wetting the entire tank sand it with 360 grit wet sandpaper. Do this again with ultra-fine 1200 grit wet sandpaper. Let it dry completely after rinsing off the sink.
